Step By Step Learning Group is excited to announce that we are now offering The ABA Clinic for all children between the ages of 2 and 8 years.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is defined as the science in which the principles of the analysis of behavior are applied systematically to improve socially significant behaviors (Cooper et al., Applied Behavior Analysis, 1990). By arranging consequences and measuring behavioral change, teachers and educators can help students acquire positive behaviors while simultaneously reducing or eliminating negative behaviors.
The ABA Clinic utilizes a variety of teaching technologies and measurement procedures based on the science of Behavior Analysis. These instructional technologies include, Precision Teaching, Fluency-Based Instruction, Direct Instruction, Discrete Trial Training and Incidental Teaching to name a few. All strategies and teaching technologies used at The ABA Clinic have been scientifically validated, with well over 40 years of outcome research data to support its efficacy.
Given waitlists consisting of years for provincically-funded autism services and the financial strain of Intensive Behavioral Intervention on families, we are pleased to offer The ABA Clinic.
The ABA Clinic gives families with children with developmental skill acquistion needs the opportunity to gain access to intervention-based services that are financially more affordable and individualized to your child’s current needs. Our ABA Clinic is for everyone including children with speech delay, Downs Syndrome, Autism Specturm Disoder, and Developmental Delays Not Specified.
The ABA Clinic currently runs from Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm at our Georgetown location at 221 Miller Drive, unit 8 and our Brampton location at 1 Regan Road, unit 13. Durinig our clinic hours, families have the option of choosing from anywhere between 1 to 12 hours a week of ABA-based services. ABA-based services are conducted in 4-week blocks at a rate of $50 per hour.
Services currently include:
Skill acquisition: 1:1 individualized, focused instruction communication, language and speech development, Picture Exchange Communication System, play and leisure, self-help, or academics.
Parant coaching: As your child’s most valuable resource, we also offer parents and caregivers opportunties to both learn about and practice a variety of applied behavior analytic methodology to strengthen and encourage positive behaviors.
While enrolled at The ABA Clinic, your child will benefit from a well experienced and educated team including a Senior Therapist, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and a Clinical Psychologist.
